Nial and I can talk for hours about our time in the Maldives, that's how we know that we had the holiday of a lifetime!  Days began extremely leisurely with an amazing buffet breakfast in the ocean front restaurant with the "sand" floor and the music that made you feel like you were floating!  (this was one of our favourite parts & we have a copy of the music so we can whisk ourselves away at anytime)...then there was our overwater bungalow that was fit for a King & Queen, we were like two kids in a toy shop the first night when we arrived playing with all the gadgets and checking out our 'bathroom to end all bathrooms'...showering will never be the same again!  We were never far from the turquoise covered day bed on our balcony overlooking the crystal clear waters of the lagoon below, we often fell asleep there under the stars with the breeze gently blowing across our faces...we were constantly amazed by the simple things and the gracefulness of the understated service that we received constantly from the Maldivian people...they couldn't do enough for you & delighted in leaving special presents for the honeymooners' when they returned to their bungalow each night after dinner...there were rose petals on the bed upon our arrival, canapes in our room the next, contreau's for sundowners another, a bubble bath filled with rose petals in a heart shape the next, it was endless...
We snorkelled in the waters below our bungalow, stepping down the ladder from our balcony and jumping in, the colours of the fish were visible even from the decked walkways.  Kayaking to a deserted island and laying on hammocks in the middle of the lagoon was yet another delight, as were our visits to the resort's two day spas.  We enjoyed couple treatments in a gorgeous garden house complete with waterfall and an overwater villa with turquoise water as far as the eye could see...as the photos show, it was our dream honeymoon, we'd always talked about visiting this atoll paradise and it far exceeded all our expectations. We both know it'll be hard to ever match it.  ENJOY!
